Birthday Burger!

In honor of my baby bro's birthday, here is his very own burger & poutine cake!
The 'burger' includes a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache & nutella filling, a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, and a red velvet cake with chocolate buttercream.
All finished with marshmallow fondant.

The poutine cake is a gluten free chocolate cake with choc ganache, strawberry filling and choc buttercream- all finished with MMF.
(This way the whole family could enjoy some cake, as my mother is Celiac).

A surprise birthday 'purse' cake for a special girl turning 14! A girl who loves the color purple, and her iPod.
This cake is double chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and strawberry filling, chocolate buttercream, and marshmallow fondant.

Hunting Cake

A special request for a hunting themed cake- camo,  bullets, and antlers- for a special dad!
This is a chocolate cake with chocolate pudding and buttercream - all made for a diabetic, using Splenda.
Antlers, bullets and scarf are gumpaste.

Girly cake

Here is a 4 layer chocolate & vanilla cake with vanilla icing and raspberry filling.
Finished with pink , marshmallow fondant and gumpaste flowers.

Cake SMASH Special!

So I absolutely love reading photo blogs...it runs a close second to food/cake/cupcake blogs!
Lately I've been seeing sooo many uber cute first birthday 'cake smashing' sessions!
Because every 1st birthday party I've been to, parents have to keep a watchful eye on the cake, before some kid sticks their hands into it.....and how many first birthday pictures are there with the tiny tike covered in cake after diving in with their little mitts?! (priceless)

I'd say its a rite of passage that every child should get to partake in- essentially, having your cake, and smashing it too!

Hello Kitty!

My sister and I are HUGE Hello Kitty fans, so I had to attempt a Hello Kitty cake for her 24th bday!
This cake is chocolate (brushed with chocolate liquer) with strawberry & chocolate ganache filling.
Covered in home made mmf- and Kitty herself is made of gumpaste.
Happy with my first HK attempt, and you can bet you will see her again!
